The Unique Character of the Friesian as a Standard of Beauty

ree

One of the main reasons the Stallion Inspection draws so much interest is the beauty and unique character of Friesian horses. Their striking appearance—with their deep black coat, long manes and tails, and distinctive white "socks"—makes Friesians easily recognizable and admired worldwide.

However, what truly sets this breed apart is its personality. As described by Sabien Zwaga, president of the jury, the Friesian horse is like a "Labrador among horses." Its friendly and approachable temperament, coupled with its willingness to interact with people, creates a special bond with breeders and enthusiasts. This breed impresses not only with its beauty but also with its personality: reliable, affectionate, and always ready to share its warmth.

In Mexico, more and more breeders and enthusiasts are appreciating these qualities and are drawn to the opportunity to raise Friesian horses—a practice that is continuously expanding in the country. Currently, Friesian stallions are being exported to Mexico, the United States, Colombia, and Brazil, further bolstering the breed's growth in Latin America.
